47:02Now PlayingIn today's episode of Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, we discussed the fuel price hike in India. The topic of fuel price hike reignited after Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Nitin Gadkari criticized the states and opposition on rising petrol prices in India at Times Now Summit 2021. Gadkari slammed the states for the current GST fuel deadlock, which he claims would last until 2021 at the earliest. Furthermore, Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, remarked at the Times Network Summit 2021 that the UPA introduced oil bonds in 2005 in reaction to the rise in oil prices. These oil debts matured last year, and now the current administration must pay them, and it would have been irresponsible to decrease excise charges sooner.
