On the first day of Chhath puja, devotees took a plunge in the Yamuna river near Kalindi Kunj in Delhi. As a consequence, the water was covered in an alarming white, poisonous foam. The Urban Debate also questioned the failure of the Aam Aadmi Party's manifesto promise to clean up the Yamuna river.
"We are doing a lot of work, a lot of sewage treatment plants have been prepared. But you can't have one standard for the Delhi govt, and an absolute wild-west for the Haryana and UP govt," says Jasmine Shah: Vice-Chairperson, DDC, Spokesperson AAP.
The debate further addressed the problem of air pollution in Delhi.
