The social media giant was questioned on its action on hate speech while the Delhi riots were actively causing chaos in the Union Territory's several districts. However, the FB officials said that they have global community standards when it comes to hate speech. They kept on reiterating that the same are applicable and followed for India as well. A Delhi government panel summoned Facebook India officials and quizzed them on the steps that have been taken to curb fake news for which their response was unclear.
