39:58Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate, with Heena Gambhir, we discuss the controversy over the ‘Madhubhan Mein Radhika’ song. The song has been slammed by far-right groups and Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra for being ‘obscene’ and 'hurting Hindu sentiments.' This comes after the Minister and other groups had earlier forced designer Sabhyasachi to remove his ‘mangalsutra’ campaign. Narottam Mishra had also commented on the Dabur controversy after it showed a same-sex couple celebrating Karva Chauth. As a result of the campaign, Saregama has now issued a statement saying that the song will be replaced across platforms within three days. Heena Gambhir lays down some bare facts about the controversy and why the song has angered many. She also asks the important question- Is it creative freedom or hurting sentiments? We are joined by Raghav Awasthi, an advocate and activist, social reformer, Deepa Rahul Easwar, actor Shehzad Khan and Dilip Cherian from Image Guru.
