3:28Now PlayingAs per breaking inputs coming in on Mirror Now, amid the ongoing coronavirus scare in India, new restrictions have been issued in Chennai. As the covid-19 threat looms, the Chennai police have banned any movement on the new year day, i.e. the 31sts of December. Under these curbs, vehicular movement only for essential services will be allowed to ply on roads from 12 AM to 5 AM on the new year. Meanwhile, in the wake of the new omicron variant and its spread in India, several states have come up with strict curbs and restrictions after witnessing a big spike in cases. New Year celebrations fall cold, and parties and mass gatherings have also been banned in several areas, including those even in apartment complexes.
