1184 Wards across 58 local bodies voted. Congress won 501 while Bhartiya Janta Party won 433. the JDS won a mere 45 wards.
Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that Karnataka is waiting to throw out the illegitimate Bommai government.
Congress Politician D K Shivakumar commented saying 'it is the people of Karnataka who have won these wards as it was their desire to defeat the BJP. They have shown faith in Congress Party.'
