Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is also one of the candidates who will be fighting the election from the Sanquelim constituency. Even though a lot of the names in the list were expected, it is now being reported that Utpal Parrikar, son of former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has not received a ticket from the Bhartiya Janata Party. Instead of Utpal Parrikar, BJP has given the Panaji seat to Babush Monserrate.
