Poor socio economic background, poor access to digital education and school closure are the primary reasons for this trend which has led to nearly 16 crore girl students lagging behind amid the pandemic.The panel observed that in the post-pandemic scenario, the probability of more teenaged girls dropping out of school permanently to help with household tasks and childcare is very high. The dropout ratio for girls during 2019-20 was 15.1
