18:53Now PlayingThe government lowered the age for vaccination against COVID-19 to 12 years old ahead of the new school year starting in April. Vaccinations for children 12 to 14 years of age begin on March 16, and Corbevax is administered at this age. In addition, the government decided to exempt the comorbidity condition so that the elderly over 60 can receive booster vaccinations. Decisions are based on appropriate discussions with scientific institutions. At present, COVID vaccination is open to population groups aged 15 years and above. While the government had initially started with adult immunisation against COVID-19, it expanded the programme to adolescents aged 15–17 years on January 3, immediately after Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin received approval.
