Sri Lanka has been reeling under its worst economic crisis in decades. There have been calls for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down. Under emergency regulations, the President can order detentions, take possession of any property and search any premises. He can change or suspend any law. The country has been completely thrown into a situation where because of its lack of stock of foreign currencies there is major economic crisis in the country.
