A portion of the canopy at the recently inaugurated Atal Bihari Vajpayee stadium in Banglore's HSR layout collapsed after heavy rain and strong wind lashed the city on Sunday. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had recently inaugurated the stadium. An Andhra Pradesh-based contractor was been given the contract for the construction of the stadium for which the government has provided Rs 40.25 crore. In another separate incident, a floating bridge in Udupi collapsed after being inaugurated on 6 May. These incidents raises questions on the corruption in Bangalore.
