2:07Now PlayingA lady was detained by High Grounds cops in relation to a recent instance wherein farmer activist Rakesh Tikait was assaulted and his face was splattered with black ink. Umadevi, a native of Hebbal and the sister of Shivakumar, who'd been arrested on the day of the incident, has been recognized as the culprit. Tikait, the president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, was assaulted on May 30 at Gandhi Bhavan while attending a farmers' meeting and addressing a press conference. Three people had been so far arrested in relation to the matter, according to officials. "On Sunday, after inquiries confirmed Umadevi's role in the assault, she was arrested for interrogation." She was detained on Monday based on her statement. "We're questioning her more," cops said.
