These included the rate rationalisation committee, internet casinos, horse racing, lotteries, and gaming, IT taxation, and precious metal movement. The GST Council postponed making a decision on the proposal to increase the GST on online gaming to 28% from 18% on skill gaming to bring it on level with chance games involving gambling and betting earlier in the day. FM said that the exclusions and inverted duty structure proposed by BS Bommai GoM were approved by the council. During the news conference for the Finance Ministry, Tarun Bajaj, the Revenue Secretary, announced that the Group of Ministers, which is in charge of submitting the report on rate rationalisation, has been given three more months.
