The Aarey colony is home to over 27 tribal villages and is considered as the last queen land of the Mumbai city. Shiv Sena’s MP, Priyanka Chaturvedi, was a part of the protest. She also mentions that Eknath Shinde, the CM of Maharashtra’s decision, is a political vendetta against the former Uddhav Thackeray government. “The car shed will come up on the deathbed of the leopards, the ecosystem, the thriving environment and the homes of the tribal, and the forestland.”
