8:46Now PlayingIn a big win for Shinde BJP new government in Maharashtra after they became successful to elect Rahul Narvekar as a Speaker of state assembly. He won with 164 votes whereas MVA led Rajan Salvi won only 107 votes. The speaker post was vacant since Nana Patole stepped down in February 2021. Deputy speaker Zirwal was handling the job of speaker since last year. CM Eknath Shinde congratulated the new speaker and also passed a proposal of his congratulation in the assembly. We have a tradition of having great speakers in the assembly. Whoever was the speaker of Maharashtra assembly is appreciated all over the country. He said he doesn't expect him to take the government side but rather urged him to be impartial while making decisions.
