Many IndiGo flights were delayed throughout the country yesterday, allegedly due to the absence or non-availability of crew members. In turn, it resulted in a lot of inconvenience for many passengers who were supposed to land at their respective destinations last Sunday. As per sources, at least fifty-five percent of IndiGo's domestic flights were delayed. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken this matter seriously against IndiGo and has asked for a clear clarification behind the reported flight delays.
"There is a global short supply of manpower in the aviation sector across the ecosystem", said Ajay Awtaney, Aviation / Hospitality & Loyalty Travel Journalist.
