1:37Now PlayingThe Supreme Court on Monday agreed to list on July 6th, subject to the CJI's approval, the plea moved by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) challenging the Madras High Court order staying the passing of any unannounced resolutions in the meeting of the AIADMK General and Executive councils concerning the issue of single leadership of the party. The Madras High Court Order restrains EPS camp from initiating single leadership of the party.
The dispute relates to the changing of the dual-leadership structure of AIADMK. After the passing away of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, AIADMK had been following a dual-leadership model with O Paneerselvam (OPS) and EPS leading it as coordinator and joint coordinator respectively.
