In May, the inflation rate was 7.04 percent. The Russia-Ukraine conflict's spike in global commodity prices as well as the high price of crude oil have put inflation beyond the RBI's upper tolerance limit of 6%. According to NSO data, the food basket had inflation in June 2022 of 7.75%, down from the previous month's 7.97%. From 18.26% in May, the inflation rate for vegetables decreased to 17.37% this month.
