3:00Now PlayingThe Supreme Court ruled today that arrests in the nine cases against suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her remarks about Prophet Muhammad are not permitted. She requested that several FIRs against her be combined into one, and the court urged other states to respond. On August 10, the Supreme Court will consider Nupur Sharma's motion; no new cases may be brought before that day. The states of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Telengana have been requested to report on her case. The Supreme Court was informed by Nupur Sharma's attorney that following the court's harsh ruling on July 1, she has come under increased threats to her life.
