as posted by the channelIn this episode of Mirror Metro, Archana Solanki will put some light on how India is hosting the 44th International Chess Olympiad, which is going to be held in Mamallapuram, around 50 kilometres from Chennai, from July 28 to August 10.
This is the first time that more than 188 countries will compete in a sporting event hosted by India. In the women's division, 162 players from all around the world have enrolled for the upcoming competition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 44th International Chess Olympiad at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
Before the inaugural tournament, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inspected the venues for the Chennai Chess Olympiad in Chennai. Stalin also displayed an outstanding sculpture at the Mamallapuram entrance, created by Poompuhar laborers.
Chandra Shekhar Luthra, a sports journalist, predicts that India will place among the top three nations at the 2022 Chess Olympiad.
