It is the world's biggest team chess championship, featuring players from 187 countries. The ceremony is organized in Mamallapuram. On this auspicious day, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin and PM Narendra Modi shared the stage. PM Modi also addressed the audience at the event and delivered his speech in Tamil as well as English. "The 44th Chess Olympiad has been a tournament of many firsts and records. "This is the first time that Chess Olympiad is being held in the place of origin of chess, that is, India." said PM in his speech. "Sports bring people and societies closer.
