The monkeypox virus may now be tested for at the Kasturba Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, according to Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, BMC's assistant commissioner for health, on Thursday.
One of the two probable cases that have been identified in Mumbai thus far was tested in Kasturba and confirmed by the National Institute of Virology in Pune. Both tests came back empty. Dr. Kumar stated, "We have monkeypox testing kits from NIV.
