In the past few months the government of Tamil Nadu was constantly being criticized for the increase of drug menace and hence this meeting took place on priority. There were several meetings held by the CM to discuss crime in the state but this is the first meeting in the state on the issue of increase of drug use. It's one of its kind. In his speech, the CM told the officials to ensure the stoppage of drugs from other regions and the situation should be brought under control.
