India's chances of hosting the Under-17 Women's World Cup were put in jeopardy when the nation was suspended by FIFA for "undue influence from third parties." After Praful Patel, the former president of the AIFF, served a second term, the Supreme Court invalidated the AIFF and removed him from office. The SC had established a Committee of Administrators to oversee the AIFF.
