5:31Now PlayingAnand Sharma, a senior leader and member of the G23 ginger group, decided to resign as Chief of the Himachal Congress Steering Committee on Sunday after seasoned party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad declined the position of Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Campaign Committee, months before state elections. Sharma raised his concerns in a letter to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, stating that his self-respect is non-negotiable and that he has not been informed of important meetings and decisions pertaining to states that are in the running for elections. Sharma, a native of the state, stated that he would conduct a four-day visit to the state to raise awareness for the party there. This is a setback for the party before the state elections.
