Aparna Bhat, an attorney, brought up the situation before the Chief Justice of India this morning in order to request an urgent listing for tomorrow. CJI NV Ramana consented to investigate the situation. If they had received remission as a result of a Supreme Court decision, CJI Ramana questioned. Suhasini Ali, a member of the Communist Party of India, journalist Revati Laul, and professor Roop Rekha Verma filed the appeal to contest the prisoners' early release. The crime, which took place during the riots in Gujarat in 2002, involved the gang rape of Bilkis Bano and the killing of 14 members of her family, including her 3-year-old daughter, in a racial attack.
