In recent developments, south Indian film stars Nayanthara and Vignesh welcomed their twin babies. However, they are alleged of violating the surrogacy laws which were modified earlier this year according to which only those people who are physically or medically unfit to carry babies are allowed to use surrogacy. While the stars have not commented on whether they became parents by surrogacy, a row has intensified over the same. Speaking over the same, Gynaecologist, Dr. Sejal Ajmera said, “Banning commercial surrogacy may not work very well because there are many deserving couples who could be restricted from having their own child.”
