The High Court dismissed a slew of petitions filed by Muslim females enrolled in Udupi pre-university colleges seeking the right to wear hijab in class. "When we talk about hijab or burqa, it's not essentially about Islam, it's about the patriarchal interpretation of Islam," says Political Analyst Amina Ansari. "School girls were used as political bait," says Homeopathic Nephrologist Dr. Lubna Kamal.
