In a remarkable decision, the board has stated that the accused will be tried as an adult. The accused was reportedly 16 years of age when he carried out the crime after which the victim’s family had been demanding his trial as an adult. The trial is all set to begin on October 31. Speaking on the same, lawyer Abha Singh said, “When a person can commit such a heinous offense, why should he/she be protected under juvenile law.”
