In this episode of The Urban Debate with Shreya Dhoundial, the anchor will be discussing Diwali, India's biggest festival, is just a few days away, but don't forget that COVID-19 is still active, with the country adding around 2,000 new cases every day. The recent discovery of two Omicron sub-variants in India has confirmed that COVID is far from over. In Maharashtra, at least 18 cases of the XBB sub-variant of Omicron had been reported as of Wednesday. XBB is a rapidly spreading variant that is a recombinant lineage of two Omicron sublineages, BJ.1 and BA.2.75.

"As a country, we have stopped bothering about #COVID and its variants, this attitude can be a serious issue," says Dr. Subhash Salunke
