4:53Now PlayingThe UN Security Council's Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC) met in person in India for a special session on the topic of "Countering the use of new and emerging technologies for terrorist purposes." The employment of drones in modern terrorism and the financing of terrorists through cryptocurrency will also be covered by the panel. The use of new technology to propagate terror is a subject that worries people all over the world more and more. The Counter-Terrorism Committee is proposing to host this special conference in India for the first time in order to address the growing threat presented by the improper use of new and emerging technologies as well as the numerous beneficial applications of technologies for combatting terrorism. Since the UNSC-CTC was founded in 2001, this will be the first meeting of its kind to take place in India. The Chair of the CTC for 2022 is the Permanent Representative of India to the UN.
