7:13Now PlayingPM Modi greeted the audience in Kannada before starting his address. He discussed the country's plans for expanding rail and air travel, the rise of startups in India, and the transformation of Bengaluru in line with Kempegowda's vision. According to the prime minister, Karnataka has the "power of a double engine," and since the same party controls both the state and the federal government, the state is expanding quickly in a number of sectors. “Today, India is known as a hub of startups across the globe and the Bengaluru has a huge role in strengthening that name. Start-up is not just a company but an emotion, the drive to do something new and different. Bengaluru represents a start-up spirit that has placed India in a different league", said PM Modi while addressing the crowd. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his visit to Bengaluru today and would be taking part in a number of activities. The BBMP has cleaned up the city and repaired all potholed roads in advance of the visit. The visit is seen as politically vital for the Karnataka BJP administration, which has faced numerous scandals over the last two years, as elections are scheduled for mid-2023.
