6:44Now PlayingAll six of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case's life-sentenced prisoners have been released by the Supreme Court. The court noted that the requirements set down for AG Perarivalan were met even in the cases of the remaining offenders, and therefore it applied its May 18 2022 ruling releasing AG Perarivalan to them as well. They were all assessed to have had good behavior while inside and had all earned various degrees. The court stated that the Tamil Nadu cabinet had recommended their release on September 9, 2018, and that this decision would be binding on the governor, before whom the convicts had submitted a remission appeal.
