In the altercation that occurred at the Sathyamoorthy Bhavan, the headquarters of the TNCC, at least four party members were hurt. The party has not yet reported anything to the police. Five buses carrying Manoharan's supporters arrived, angry at the recent release of the results of the organisation elections for the two block Congress presidents, Kalakkad and Nanguneri. The claim was that Manoharan, the local MLA, was unaware of the block presidents' "choice" of KPK Jayakumar, the Tirunelveli East DCC president.
