1:47Now PlayingPolice in Versova, Mumbai, apprehended Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam after he organised a motorcycle rally to put pressure on Gajanan Kirtikar, the MP for the North West Mumbai Lok Sabha Constituency. According to a Congress leader, Nirupam was detained by the police without a valid warrant. On November 16 at 2:00 PM, the North West District Congress Committee, led by Sanjay Nirupam, was scheduled to host a bike rally. This protest was held in support of the resignation of Kirtikar. Prior to that, however, Nirupam was detained by the police and taken to the Versova police station on suspicion of disrupting a bike demonstration. "I had organised a bike rally to put pressure on our local MP G Kirtikar to resign from his post for his inactivity in the constituency. Instead of giving permission to carry out our peaceful political program police forcefully detained me without showing me any order," said Congress Leader Sanjay Nirupam.
