Amit Shah, the union home minister, made fun of the Congress throughout the campaign by claiming that the group had at least eight candidates for the position of chief executive. Former Dharamshala MLA and ex-minister Sudhir Sharma responded to the jab by saying, "The Congress is a democratic party where everyone can dream of becoming the CM." Additionally, he added, "He is referring to eight CM candidates, but I can say that there may be more. After all, this demonstrates the Congress's democratic nature. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Mukesh Agnihotri, and Pratibha Singh are the three people that are thought to be in front of the rest of the field. Sukhu and Agnihotri were in line to take Singh's seat, a sitting MP who chose not to run for re-election.
