According to the institute, cases in China could peak around April 1, 2023. They also said, about one-third of China's population will be infected by April 1. They predicted that by then, death toll would reach the 3,22,000 mark. So far, COVID fatalities stand at 5,235. China lifted the world's toughest COVID restrictions in the first week of December.
