13:07Now PlayingUniversity Grants Commission, UGC has released the draft regulations for the setting up of Foreign Universities in India. UGC has stated that foreign universities can not set up their campus in India until they have received approval from the commission. The draft regulations are available on the official website of the commission – ugc.ac.in. This initiative is suggested by NEP 2020, UGC has decided to make way for Foreign universities to set up their campuses in India. For the same, UGC has released the University Grants Commission (Setting up and Operation of Campuses of Foreign Higher Educational Institutions in India) Regulations, 2023 in public domain. Mirror Now spoke to M Jagdesh Kumar Chairperson of UGC, he said that the primary objective of National education policy is to provide freedom to the students to choose their options to take an education.
