Assuring him of the required support, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to evaluate the situation and the actions already done for the inhabitants' safety and recovery. The announcement followed a high-level meeting between senior Central government officials, representatives from the state of Uttarakhand, and senior officers from organisations such as the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Geological Survey of India (GSI), and the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH).
