1:57Now PlayingThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is rummaging through former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram's property as part of an alleged corruption inquiry. The searches, according to officials, are being done in relation to irregularities in currency printing that occurred when Mayaram was the Finance Secretary. Raids are being carried out in Jaipur and Delhi. Some officials from the RBI and Finance Ministry are also under investigation in addition to Mayaram. Notably, Mayaram is a retired IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre and is a member of the 1978 batch. He held the position of finance secretary from April to October 2014. The former bureaucrat had previously held the position of secretary in the tourism and minority affairs ministries.
