3:51Now PlayingDuring raids at the home and factory of former minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislator Zakir Hossain, the income tax department seized approximately Rs 11 crore in cash. In Murshidabad district, the former minister's house, beedi factory, and oil mills were raided. The marathon raid search operations were carried out by Income Tax department sleuths, who were accompanied by central armed forces personnel. While approximately Rs 1 crore was seized from Hossain's home, approximately Rs 10 crore was seized from his rice and flour mill, according to an official. Around Rs 5.5 crore was seized from two other beedi manufacturing units in the same district belonging to different individuals, bringing the total amount of cash seized to more than Rs 16 crore.
