2:41Now PlayingThe United Nations Security Council has designated Abdul Rehman Makki, the brother-in-law of Muhammad Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa, as a global terrorist under its ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee (UNSC).
According to the UNSC, Makki is the head of the political affairs wing of both the Pakistan-based terrorist organisations and the deputy amir/chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba, also known as Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The "global terrorist" was also in charge of the LeT's foreign relations division and a member of the Shura.
Makki Abdul Rehman was formerly classified as a terrorist under the domestic legislation of India and the US. The Indian authorities has asserted that Hafiz Saeed's brother-in-law was involved in funding, recruiting, and inciting young people to engage in violent behaviour, as well as plotting terrorist acts in India.
