Following a complaint from the university administration, a case was opened at the Dundigal Police Station by the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. Several hours before to this development, a video showing Bhagirath abusing a pupil became viral on social media. According to reports, the incident happened a few days ago. The son of a BJP politician, who is enrolled in a management programme, was upset with Sriram since he was rumoured to have developed feelings for his friend's sister. Bhagirath can be heard verbally abusing the victim in the video before hitting him.
