When the election commission announced the date of the Tripura assembly elections, "BJP workers attacked" a motorbike rally of the Congress party. Along with Ajay Kumar, Gopal Roy, a former leader of the Tripura Congress, Ratan Das, and Bijay Das, all suffered severe injuries and had to go to the hospital.
The event happened on Wednesday afternoon in Jirania, which is part of the Majlishpur assembly seat in Tripura's West district. Congress has alleged that the attack was intended by BJP goons as assembly elections in the state are just a few days away.
