According to the IT regulations unveiled this week, the nation would prohibit any news on social media that it labels as "false." The Press Information Bureau or any other entity would have the authority to declare information or news on social media to be fraudulent or incorrect, and this would make it illegal.
We are joined with panelist to share their views on it.
"There was no attempt to consult with media or to get them on board. It feel like an attempt by Govt to control the narrative," said Sanjay Kapoor, Member EGI (Editor's Guild of India).
