Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, "Big tech companies will have to pay a fair share with the news publisher or content publisher in the future." The Australian government was one of the first large governments to pass a law requiring big tech companies such as Meta and Google to work out fair deals with news organisations, media outlets, and publishing houses for the content shared on their platforms.
