3:42Now PlayingUnion Minister Amit Shah said Cellular Jail has been the holy place for the Freedom struggle and Netaji hosted the first Triflag of the country in Andaman. Shah, who arrived here last night for a two-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and was scheduled to speak at a public meeting on Monday morning to commemorate Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 126th birth anniversary. The Interior Minister will also assess development efforts on the strategically located island territory. The stadium was formerly known as Gymkhana Ground. Shah is also expected to visit the Cellular Jail, where many Indian freedom fighters were imprisoned during India's long history of the independence struggle. The public functions will be followed by a meeting with the island BJP's core committee, according to officials. The Union Minister will assess various development initiatives in the archipelago.
