Feb 1, 20234:09Now PlayingAs the budget session began on Tuesday, the finance minister presented the Economic Survey to the House of Representatives. It's interesting to note that the word "inflation" was mentioned 356 times in the survey. In January 2022, retail inflation in the nation had risen above the RBI's permissible threshold of 4-6 percent. Prior to dropping back to below the upper end of the target range of 6% in November, it had been above the target range for ten months. It is interesting that the RBI forecasted headline inflation for the current fiscal year (FY23) at 6.8 percent, which is higher than its target range.
