According to the finance minister, the budget plan revolves around seven priorities: inclusive development, reaching the last mile, infrastructure and investment, unleashing potential, green growth, young power, and the financial sector. Tejashvi Surya, a BJP MP, stated, "I'd like to thank Prime Minister Modi and Foreign Minister Sitharaman for announcing the Rs 5,000 crore irrigation project for Karnataka's Upper Bhadra region. This endeavour will be transformative for the state." Ravi Shankar Prasad, a BJP MP and former government minister, stated that the budget not only meets the needs of the middle class, but also of tribals, the destitute, and fishermen.
