4:32Now PlayingThe selection procedures used by the education department to choose the government school teachers who were recently sent to Singapore for training have been questioned by Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit in a letter to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. There was "no transparency" in the process, according to Purohit, who also claimed that "complaints were received pointing to certain malpractices and illegalities in the selection process." From February 6–10, a group of 36 teachers (the majority of whom were employed as principals) from government schools in Punjab undertook professional training. The committee was led by Maninder Singh Sarkaria, director of the Punjab State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). On February 11, they arrived back in Delhi, where they were greeted by Punjab CM Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Keep watching Mirror Now!
